Park Residences at Minoru

Late winter saw the completion of the Park Residences at Minoru, a 89 unit residential market tower and a 132 unit rental tower.
Along with a great client, BBA Design Consultants worked with W.T. Leung Architects and Ledcor to achieve a successful residential project.

The rental tower faces Minoru but it is no second cousin to the market building directly behind. The lobby is well lit and the LZF – Spiro pendant lights in nickel and natural wood glow on a dark winter’s night against the walnut laminate paneling throughout.

Unlike the rental tower with it’s large open lobby the market residential tower has a unique progression of spaces that are full of tactile surprises and reference the nearby park.

At the entrance vestibule the residents are first greeted with an organic laser cut screen in a metallic champagne finish.
Warm wood paneling in hues of gold contrast with the grey tones of the porcelain tile floor. A large lily pond photograph commissioned from Vancouver photographers “Fertile Images & Prints” are reminiscent of the pond in the neighboring Minoru Park while 3 large organic Marset pendants in gold and black complement the art work.

We had some fun with the intermediate lobby space leading to the elevator lobby and decided to create a modern day gazebo wrapping the entire walls and ceiling in wood and lighting the space with indirect LED.

Large format porcelain walls in a white cararra marble motif wrap the entire elevator lobby and showcase the gold and silver branch pattern on the wallcovering.
The fitness room off the lobby continues the nature theme with a custom wood and rope screen in a branch-like motif.

The outcome is pleasing and grounds the homeowner to the proximity to the park providing a lobby of ever changing experiences.
